Fort St. Joseph National Historic Site
Several nature trails wind through the mature maple forest and overlook the marshy bays and islands of the St. Marys River. This habitat, that once sustained soldiers and Indigenous peoples, provides sanctuary for moose, deer, beaver and eagles. Bring along a picnic lunch and enjoy the peaceful setting overlooking the shipping channel.

Migratory Bird Sanctuary
This sanctuary was established in 1951 in order to protect migratory birds from the extensive hunting that was taking place in the area at that time.
Monarch butterflies
Fort St. Joseph is a summer home for monarch butterflies during the months of June to September.
