Canada Strong visitor information 2026

With the renewal of the Canada Strong Pass, the Government of Canada is once again offering free admission to national historic sites, national parks, and national marine conservation areas operated by Parks Canada and a 25% discount on camping fees. This offer is valid from June 19 to September 7, 2026.

The Canada Strong Pass is providing Canadians with the opportunity to access engaging, affordable experiences at iconic cultural and natural heritage sites across the country.

Plan ahead: Expect very high visitation in 2026

Green Gables Heritage Place is anticipating a significant increase in visitation for the 2026 season. Guests are strongly encouraged to plan ahead and adjust travel schedules to avoid delays and long wait times.

What visitors should expect:

• Peak visitation periods will result in line-ups forming early in the day.
• Parking areas may reach capacity earlier than usual.
• The site experience (house tours, trails, exhibits) may require additional wait time.
• Due to scheduled commercial groups, expect higher visitation levels when cruise ships arrive in Charlottetown.
• Please plan accordingly. 

How to avoid line-ups:

• Arrive early in the morning for the best chance at minimal wait times.
• Consider visiting during off-peak hours or less busy days.
• Have alternative times or nearby destinations in mind if the site is at capacity.

Helpful tips:

• Bring water, sun protection, and comfortable footwear.
• Allow extra time to explore the grounds and trails.
• Be patient, staff are working hard to welcome all visitors safely and efficiently.
