Plan ahead: Expect high visitation in 2026
PEI National Park is anticipating significantly higher visitation during the 2026 season. To ensure a positive experience, visitors are encouraged to plan ahead, arrive early, and prepare for limited parking in several popular beach areas.
What to expect:
- Parking lots, especially smaller coastal lots, are expected to reach capacity before 11:00 a.m. on most days.
- Overflow parking will be limited, and visitors may need to consider alternative locations or times to visit.
- Vehicle speeds must remain low throughout the park for visitor safety and wildlife protection.
- Beach accesses may require additional walking time due to parking pressure.
How to prepare:
- Arrive early or visit during off-peak hours.
- Consider biking, walking, or carpooling as transportation options where available.
- Have a backup beach or destination planned.
- Bring water, sun protection, and patience. Staff and visitors alike are working together to ensure
a safe, enjoyable experience.
